Please Note the IRS Announced in September 2023 that it will not process any more ERC claims in 2023 as they investigate fraudulent claims. You can still file amended payroll returns to claim the credit right now, they just won't be processed at this time. Watch my video here on the update:  https://youtu.be/XY6x7bFW8Cc

Want to determine if you qualify for the Employee Retention Tax Credit? YOU could be eligible for a federal tax credit (i.e. free money!) of up to $26,000 per employee!

This calculator has been fully updated to the newest 2022 guidance including changes due to the passage of the Infrastructure Bill.

This ERTC calculator will help you:

      • Understand the rules to qualify for the Employee Retention Tax Credit, including an easy-to-follow flow chart illustrating the 2020 and 2021 rules (including the extension to Q3).
      • Determine which quarters you qualify for the tax credit based on gross receipts, as well as when you no longer qualify.
      • Estimate the tax credits you might be eligible to take retroactively for 2020 and 2021!  (Yes, even if you received a PPP loan!)

This Calculator is intended for individual Small Business use with up to 150 employees and cannot be modified to accommodate additional employees. If you have employees beyond this, then we recommend seeking the help of an accountant.

    What People Are Saying....
Have Questions? Check out our FAQs below.
    • Is this still up-to-date with the most recent rules?
You betcha! We keep the spreadsheet updated and will also send out update notices or revised versions whenever the rules are amended or clarified to keep you in the loop.
    • Do you offer refunds?
Because our worksheets are immediately delivered to your email for digital download, we don't offer refunds. However please contact us at [email protected] if you don't receive it or have issues opening it so we can make sure you are satisfied with your purchase.
    • I'm an Accountant. Can I use this for my clients?
Per our Terms and Conditions, this worksheet is not meant for commercial use. If you'd like to use it commercially with your clients, please contact us at [email protected] with an estimate of the number of clients you plan to use it for and we can give you a personalized quote to buy the rights to a fully unlocked version you can use commercially.
    • Does this spreadsheet help for Recovery Startup Businesses?
In general, this spreadsheet is meant for businesses that were fully or partially shut down due to Covid or suffered a decline in gross receipts in 2020 or 2021.
    • Do you offer 1:1 support with ERTC/ERC?
Unfortunately, we aren't able to answer questions or offer consulting at this time. We recommend discussing this with your accountant if you have one that is versed in ERTC.

If you don't have one, we highly recommend scheduling an Employee Retention Tax Credit consultation with Kristi Stone of Stone & Company CPAs to answer your questions, review your worksheet, and help you maximize your credit. • If I'm the only employee of my business, can I qualify for ERTC? Or if I have contractors but no W-2 employees, can I qualify?
No, ERTC can only be claimed for W-2 employees that are not yourself or part of your immediate family. Contractors are not eligible for ERTC.
    • I have more than 150 employees, will the ERTC Calculator work for me?
Unfortunately no. Our ERTC calculator was made for the small business owner in mind with up to 150 employees. We recommended reaching out to an accountant to help you with calculating the ERTC credit you may qualify for instead.
